This
tenor banjo was a gimme at a gig I was playing back in the middle 70's. All the
hardware looks B&D and the serial on the pot and neck is 29897 which if I
go by two different lists I have seen is either 1931 or 1939 vintage. It sounds
pretty good even though the head isn't the correct size as you can see in the
picture. The neck is fairly straight and has very little wear on the frets. I
am interested in learning plectrum so I am looking for a suitable replacement
neck...or a trade.

This banjo is a house brand which was made by B&D My guess in the late 20's. there were at least four companies that used the Lyric name. Vega was one besides B&D.
No tone ring.
I happen to own one exactly like it.
